WAKE UP APOLLO

So to all you die hard Wake Up Apollo fans that have been wondering just what the fuck has been going on with the band… I’m about to lay it down right now. 

Over the past few months we have experienced “changes.” Our voices have grown deeper, we’re getting hair in weird places, and our lineup has experienced a shake up. First off, we announced a while ago that Ryan had left the band. We have also parted ways with our guitar player Chris. Everything’s cool and we’re all on good terms. No drama, no problem. So right now, we’re all settling into a new practice schedule, getting ready to write new songs, and figuring out the lineup situation. As it stands right now, Mike is taking over on vocals while still playing bass. We are very excited about this and his voice adds a new dynamic to our sound. As for a 2nd guitarist, right now we are practicing with Tom G of Dead In Canada fame. Our lineup still isn’t permanent, but we are working on that with each passing week. Stay tuned for more updates in the months to follow. As our original intention was before the lineup changes, we hope to have new music out this summer. Stay tuned, stay real.

Hey! It’s been a while. Been super busy lately, back to writing today, and back to Derrek’s Girl of the Week…

What a surprise huh? I know this isn’t the most original DGOTW pick, but can you really complain? Marisa Miller is definitely in my top 5 hottest women ever. There is not one thing wrong with this ridiculous woman. I don’t really know what else to say, it should be self explanatory… at least until next Friday.

Hey this is Derrek updating you on the current situation with our former vocalist, Ryan. This past Sunday, after an extensive discussion at band practice, Ryan has decided to move on from Wake Up Apollo. This is strictly a peaceful departure and there are no hard feelings on either side. We are all still great friends and plan on working together on other things aside from music in the future. Right now we are weighing our options for replacement, one of them being to move Mike to the position. We will most certainly keep you updated about this…

Aside from that, we have a bunch of new material we are working on and we are totally stoked on it. Jennifer Aniston agrees. And I agree with Jennifer Aniston.

I have been really slacking on this as of late. I apologize to all the dedicated DGOTW followers. So without an even further delay… I present to you… Derrek’s Girl Of The Week…

Let me start off by saying that The OC is one of my all time favorite TV shows. Say whatever you want about it or the fact that I’ve seen seasons 1 and 2 five times each, I don’t give a fuck. Because that’s where I discovered the hotness that is Olivia Wilde. But it hasn’t been until recently that the rest of the world has taken notice, and that’s really too bad. California… here we come… at least until next Friday.  

Yes you read that correctly. This isn’t a post about hot chicks or R. Kelly, this is strictly biz, ya diiiiig? Tomorrow we are beginning a new writing process and it seems like we will be taking some time off from shows (not like we were playing a heck of a lot anyway). Our plans are to have at least a couple new recordings out to you by late January, something like a very short EP. But our main goal is to have our debut full length out to you by some time next summer. I know all of this is a loooooong ways away, but trust me, it’s fucking worth it. Rest easy for now Apollo, just don’t say we didn’t warn you.

My girl of the week this week… Jenna Fischer aka Pam from The Office. The sexiest thing about Jenna? Or perhaps the scariest? She has what I like to call “obtainable hot.” Meaning one day you could be getting hitched with a chick like this. Now that doesn’t mean that she’s not special, she’s the hottest in this league of “obtainable hot.”  She doesn’t do anything special, she just be beautiful. A lesson most of you ladies should be taking notes on. It’s not hard to look hot and Jenna knows this. Unless you’re a complete mess, fat, or just don’t give a shit. For now though, let’s just sit back and enjoy women that don’t try too hard because they know they got it… at least until next Friday.

My girl this week… none other than Australian pop sensation Holly Valance. Now you may be saying to yourself… “gee she looks familiar.” That’s because E banged this broad twice in an episode during season 2 of Entourage. This girl is mind blowingly hot. Everything about her just sets it off. She could silence a room full of raging bulls upon entrance. A matador of men I guess you could say. Do yourself a favor and check out that episode of Entourage for more Holly hotness. You stay sexy Holly… at least until next Friday.

I know, I know. It’s already Saturday and I haven’t posted my girl of the week. Wake Up Apollo took the week off, I had mono, everything about this week was anything but in sync. But to no further delay, I present to you… Derrek’s Girl Of The Week…

This week’s girl is Israeli model Bar Refaeli. I often consider this woman to be the hottest I have ever seen. One look into her eyes is all you need. She has blown up recently and that don’t mean that she’s gained weight. She has been featured in articles all across men’s internet sites. Now you’re probably wondering why I didn’t pick a more revealing picture of her. Well, as hard as it was to choose, I had to go with this pic I saw on barstool this week because that shirt makes her tits pop like fucking crazy. It’s driving me wild. So let’s pop the champagne for her this week out of respect for the shirt. Drink up… at least until next Friday.

So last night we played with our friends in Casting Call @ The Webster Underground in Hartford, CT. Or to be more specific, East Hartford. To be even more specific, the hood. Overall it was a very fun night, all the bands that came out were fantastic and thanks to everyone that came out to see us.
